I’m rather a huge Breaking Bad fan and am both excited and sad that it is all going to end tomorrow. I thought it would be fun to capture my predictions for how it is all going to all and then come back and see how I did. Here’s what I think is going to happen. Note that there are some SPOILERS for previous episodes in the season, so if you aren’t all caught up then stop reading now. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

This show is a big fan of misdirection and subtle foreshadowing, so I’ve tried to take that into consideration with my predictions. The last episode ended with Hank in a bar seeing Grey Matter on the news, and this would appear to be why he didn’t end up giving himself up to the police. The assumption is that he’s going to go even the score using the machine gun we saw at the start of the season. I think this is a red herring. The important part of that news cast was actually the part where it was revealed that Heisenberg quality meth is still on the streets. I think Walts pride in his superiority will make him go find Lydia to discover who is making this new meth. This would explain the scene in the previous episode where Lydia discovered Jesse was still alive and cooking. She’s going to sing like a canary.

Breaking Bad gun

Someone’s gonna get hurt real bad!

I’ve seen a lot of fans online say that Walter won’t go in guns blazing against Uncle Jack and his goons because he’s always been about solving problems with intelligence. I disagree, I think that is exactly what is going to happen, the final act in Walts transformation into pure bad guy. Walters desperate and angry and knows he doesn’t have much time left. He’s going to try to sacrifice himself to save Jesse. I think he will succeed in killing Uncle Jack and co and the shootout will end with a showdown between Walter and Jesse. Walt will drop his gun and tell Jesse to end it all and the writers will tease us that maybe he will, but eventually Jesse will turn and walk away with something along the lines of “I wish we’d never met me.”

Assuming the theme of the episode is about sacrifice and redemption, Walt goes to collect the ricin from his old house before turning himself in to the police to save Skylar and the kids. He will confess everything in a long dramatic soliloquy, recapping the entire show and his descent into evil. The final scene will be Walt locked up in prison, and he’ll either pull out the ricin or find a way to suggest he already took it. Fade to black, end of the show, no happy ending for anyone!

What do you think? Is this how it will all end? What did I miss? I’ll update this post on Monday when all is revealed!
